MY COMMITMENT TO DISTRICT 9

Infrastructure

First and foremost, leadership must protect what we already have in District 9.

Smart. Intentional. Community. Growth.

Leadership must first protect what we already have in District 9. Families have chosen to live here because of the strong sense of community, natural beauty, and quality of life that make this district special — and protecting that must always come first.

Residents across District 9 have raised concerns for years about traffic, overcrowded roads, and infrastructure not keeping pace with growth. Roads like Snow Hill Road and Hunter Road have been part of ongoing conversations, yet many families are still navigating the same narrow and increasingly congested roadways while development continues around them. These are real, everyday concerns that deserve thoughtful attention and long-term solutions — not temporary fixes.

At the same time, we must plan responsibly for the future. District 9 is growing, and that growth should strengthen our community, not strain it. That is why I believe in smart, intentional community growth.

Smart growth means evaluating traffic, infrastructure, utilities, schools, public safety, and long-term impact before decisions are made. Intentional growth means having a clear plan, so development supports our roads, neighborhoods, and services. Community growth means residents have a voice in the decisions that affect their daily lives — and leadership that is visible, accessible, and responsive enough to hear those concerns and act on them.

When these principles guide us, growth can be responsible, balanced, and aligned with the future. District 9 deserves leadership that prioritizes thoughtful planning, strong infrastructure, and the protection of our quality of life — ensuring our community is not left behind, but prepared and positioned for what comes next.

STRONG SCHOOLS. RESPONSIBLE PLANNING.

SCHOOLS

Education funding is one of the most important responsibilities of a commissioner, and that starts with ensuring teachers are paid competitive wages and have the resources they need to succeed. My experience and relationships within Hamilton County Schools will bring strength, perspective, and accountability to that role.

As your commissioner, I will bring my experience in bringing people together — including residents, teachers, and community leaders across District 9 — to be strategic about securing resources and ensuring responsible development that supports our schools while advocating for District 9. As a small business owner and corporate leader, I have been responsible for hundreds of employees, clients, and budgets, and in my career in human resources, I have hired thousands of people and understand how critical education is to the strength of our workforce and community.

As a product of public education and through my relationships with teachers, educators, and staff across Hamilton County, I have seen firsthand how overcrowding, aging buildings, and infrastructure challenges impact students, teachers, and families. When people choose where to live, one of their first questions is about the quality and capacity of our schools — and whether our schools are prepared to grow alongside our community. Instead of short-term fixes, we must focus on expanding capacity, modernizing facilities, and making long-term investments that support both current and future students.

jobs & workforce

Opportunity. Skills. Pathways to Success.

A strong workforce creates opportunity for individuals, families, and our entire community. Not every student will pursue a traditional four-year college path, and leadership must ensure that students and adults have access to the training and skills needed to succeed in today’s workforce.

That includes expanding awareness of technical training, certification programs, and career pathways available right here in our community through programs offered by the State of Tennessee, Chattanooga State, UTC, and local workforce initiatives.

From healthcare and logistics to manufacturing, cybersecurity, media, culinary arts, and skilled trades, students and adults should know that there are multiple pathways to building successful careers.

Throughout my career, I have worked with employers, industry leaders, schools, and community partners to help connect people with real opportunities. I believe in strengthening partnerships that prepare students for the workforce and ensure the workforce is ready for them.

District 9 deserves leadership that understands both workforce needs and the opportunities available to help individuals succeed.

protecting our Seniors

Supporting those who built our community.

Our seniors helped build the community we are proud to call home today, and they deserve to live with dignity, stability, and security in the place they love.

Many seniors in District 9 have shared concerns about rising costs and the pressure those costs can place on residents living on fixed incomes. Responsible leadership means making sure our seniors are not overlooked as decisions are made about our community’s future.

That includes expanding awareness and access to existing tax relief opportunities while continuing to pursue local solutions that help seniors on fixed incomes remain in their homes with dignity and stability.

It also means ensuring taxpayer dollars are focused on priorities that matter most to our residents, including maintaining safe and reliable infrastructure such as the roads many seniors travel every day.

Protecting our seniors also means supporting efforts that help keep them safe from fraud, scams, and financial exploitation that too often target older residents.

Protecting our seniors means listening to their concerns, planning responsibly, and ensuring the community they helped build continues to support them in the years ahead.

public safety

Supporting the men and women who protect our community.

Public safety is one of the most important responsibilities of local government. Our residents deserve safe neighborhoods, strong emergency response services, and the confidence that those who protect our community have the support and resources they need.

I grew up in a public safety family. My father served the City of Chattanooga as a firefighter for 33 years, retiring as a captain. Living in that environment gave me firsthand insight into the dedication, sacrifice, and commitment required of firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and all first responders.

Throughout my career, I have consistently supported those who serve our communities. From advocating through media platforms to supporting efforts that strengthen pensions, compensation, and resources for our first responders, I have worked to elevate their voices and highlight the critical role they play in keeping our communities safe.

As commissioner, I will continue working with fellow commissioners, mayors, and community leaders to ensure first responders have the tools, training, and resources needed to protect our neighborhoods. That includes supporting competitive pay and benefits so we can retain experienced personnel and remain competitive with other communities.

Hamilton County also relies heavily on volunteer fire departments, particularly in areas like District 9. Ensuring those departments have the resources and support they need to serve our residents effectively will remain a priority.

Supporting public safety also means recognizing the mental and emotional demands placed on first responders and encouraging programs that provide support for them and their families.

Strong communities depend on strong public safety partnerships, and I remain committed to supporting the men and women who protect and serve our residents every day.
